The Guidelines describe how a typical child develops but it is important to understand that each child learns and develops at their own individual pace.
Since each child is different, caregivers should talk with a health care provider or other trusted professional about any questions or concerns.
Local early intervention services may also help. You can request a free screening at any time to answer questions about your child’s development and determine whether your child may benefit from the early intervention support and services offered through the Early Intervention Colorado Program. To be connected to the Community Centered Board in your county, you can call 1-888-777-4041 or click here. If your child is older than age 3, contact your local school district.
Caregivers may also learn about programs that can support their child ages 0 to 8 years of age at the Colorado Office of Early Childhood.
