You know just how important the early years are for a child’s growth and development. As someone who has dedicated your life to children, you play an essential role in helping Colorado’s children get off to a strong, healthy start. The Guidelines provide practical tips and information that anyone can use to help children grow intellectually and emotionally. The Guidelines provide a statewide roadmap but now it’s up to all of us to support families and other caregivers, organizations and initiatives as they put the Guidelines to work. Here’s how:
Early Learning Matters The early years of a child’s life are critically important for all areas of learning and development. In the first three years of life, 85 percent of a baby’s brain develops and continues to develop throughout a child’s life. Early learning experiences are an important part of shaping the success of children throughout their lives. Studies show that kids who receive quality early childhood education are more likely to graduate from high school, own a home, have a job and earn a higher income. Supporting early childhood education helps our children, our communities and our economy. Click here for more information.
